Eyes Tell a Story – Here are the in's and out's of our #MASKMAKEOVER
Face masks or face coverings have become a social norm as we all navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. Eyes tell a story and we don’t want that story to be your age… caring for your eye area is more important than ever since that’s all others can see when wearing those masks. We’ve coined the combination of these treatments out MASK MAKEOVER:
Skincare - A good skincare regimen
All Eyes On You: Contains a form of Vitamin C clinically demonstrated to improve skin appearance. The anti-oxidant cocktail of Vitamins C & E and Green Tea, paired with penetration-enhancing hydroxy acids and Peptides, makes it among the most potent products available.
The Eyes Have It: An intensive eye area treatment that gently retextures the delicate eye area and helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The program consists of two products for use on alternate evenings.
The Eyes Have It Restorative Cream, for use Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday p.m., delivers Nicotinyl trichloroacetamide, antioxidants and peptides.
The Eyes Have It Retinol Gel, for use Monday, Wednesday & Friday p.m., delivers microencapsulated retinol.
Lashes - We are now offering LASH LTD which can be purchase at our office (West Magnolia Plastic Surgery or The Retreat Medical Spa).
Lash LTD helps your lashes appear to look Longer, Thicker & Darker with continued use. The nourishing and moisturizing ingredients will help protect your lashes from breakage. Use daily to condition and enhance your natural lashes.
Injectables -
Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines on the forehead, crows feet, and between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) typically lasting upwards of 4 months.
Dermal Filler is an injectable solution that fills the soft tissue under the skin to improve the appearance of aging, wrinkling and sagging skin. Dermal fillers are ideal for filling in creases and lines, plumping up the lips and cheeks, and enhancing facial contours. We use a wide variety of fillers that are indicated for different areas of the face including the Restylane family products. While our newest filler, Restylane Kysse, is used for the lips, now is the perfect time to have your lips injected because your mask can help hide potential bruising and swelling until they are healed. Most fillers last anywhere from six to upwards of 18 months.
FAQ’s:
WHERE CAN I PURCHASE THE EMD SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
Dr. McLaughlin’s skincare products can be purchased in-office, over the phone (with curbside pick-up), or online at www.mclaughlin.eshopmd.com.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR DYSPORT OR FILLERS (INJECTABLES)?
Do not take blood thinners such as fish oils, Aspirin, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Advil, etc. Got a headache?… Tylenol is okay! Blood thinners increase the likelihood of bruising
History of fever blisters? Injections could trigger a cold sore if you are having injections in or around the lip area. Dr. McLaughlin can prescribe a prevention medication to start taking two days prior to treatment.
Drink plenty of water! Relax and hydrate. Increase your water intake to help improve your body’s ability to heal.
Take into consideration you might be swollen for a couple of days…up to one week. This is completely NORMAL and the swelling will subside.
Do not exercise for at least 24 hours following the treatment. You want to avoid activities that increase blood flow to your face. Although lip injections do not technically require any downtime, it’s best to ice down the injected area in effort to decrease inflammation.
Take Arnica pellets. We recommend T-Relief which you can find online through Amazon or at nearby health food stores such as the Sunflower Shoppe or the Vitamin Shoppe. Follow the directions on the box a few days prior to your appointment and a few days following.
Why do you ask? Arnica is a homeopathic supplement that can help decrease bruising and swelling. We recommend taking this to all our patients prior to any injections and surgical procedures. (Please do not take T-Relief if you have an allergy to shellfish.)
HOW MUCH ARE THESE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES? CAN YOU FINANCE THEM?
Dysport costs Fillers currently range from $600 to $650 a syringe with our office. Dr. Mclaughlin can help determine which filler is right for you and how many syringes your need. Generally, lips only need 1 – 2 syringes. Credit Card lovers…we take Care Credit! Get the lips you want NOW and pay later with Care Credit’s medical credit card.
