How long does the whole process take?
The process begins with an initial complimentary consultation with our certified laser techs/ medical aestheticians. The first treatment can be preformed during this visit when mentioned during booking that you wish to proceed.
Small areas can be treated in about 15 minutes per session, Medium areas: 30 minutes/ session, & Large areas: 45 minutes/ session.
What is the cost for Laser Hair Removal?/ How can laser hair removal save money?
The cost for laser hair removal depends on how small or large the area may be. Cost ranges from $100 - $300 per treatment.
How many laser hair removal sessions are recommended?
We typically recommend 6 treatments to see the best results. This can take about 6 to 8 moths to complete. Maintenance treatments may be required every few years in order to keep results.
Who is a CANDIDATE for laser hair removal?/ what skin types can be treated?
Anyone with hair that is of a darker pigment i.e. brown or black hair. Grey, red, and blonde hair generally does not respond. We are cannot treat over areas with tattoos. All skin types fitzpatricks can be treated.
How to prepare for your laser hair removal treatment?
Patient must shave the treatment area completely the night before the treatment (very important for good results). They must not be pregnant, breastfeeding, have been on any antibiotics or photosensitizing drugs in the last 2 weeks. Patient must not have had any sun exposure in the treatment area for 2 weeks prior.
What to expect during laser hair removal?/ Does laser hair removal hurt?
The laser has a built in cooling mechanism to prevent the feeling of heat on the skin, but you will feel the laser when it targets the hair follicles under the skin. Patients generally describe the feeling as being snapped with a rubber band. Some may experience erythema or swelling of hair follicles that will typically subside in less than 24 hours after treatment. Topical hydrocortisone may be applied if there is any itching or irritation. Keep in mind during your treatment that it’s not uncommon to smell the treated hair follicles during the treatment.
Post laser hair removal care?
Although uncommon, if you experience any irritation or itching after the treatment you can apply a topical hydrocortisone cream and a cool compress. Showering is fine with warm water, but hot water may be irritating within 24 hours of treatment. You should avoid working out and excessive sweating for 24 hours. Avoid sun exposure in the treatment area for 2 weeks after. We encourage all laser patients to wear a medical grade sunscreen on the treatment area every day for the duration of their laser series. What to expect from laser hair removal results?/ Is all of the hair gone?/ Do you ever have to shave again?
Most people will see a significant reduction after a series of 6 treatments. For many the hair may be completely gone; however, additional treatments may be required in some cases. The effectiveness of the treatment depends on how diligent the patient is to staying on schedule. If there is long break between treatments, it can negatively impact your outcome. Laser hair removal is permanent; however, our bodies can create new hair follicles throughout or life. Factors such as age and hormones play a roll in how long your treatment lasts. For this reason we offer maintenance treatments to anyone who as completed a series of 6 at a discounted rate.
