I created West Magnolia Plastic Surgery, PA 13 years ago and have been blessed to see my practice grow and change through the years. As the first female Plastic Surgeon in Fort Worth and Tarrant County, I was blessed to find a niche for plastic surgery from a female perspective. I had a vision from the beginning of the atmosphere I wished to create for my patients. I am pleased to report that my vision has come to completion with the introduction of The Retreat, a Medical Spa on site with the offices of West Magnolia Plastic Surgery and West Magnolia Surgery Center.

I was blessed to find space for my office 10 years ago in a historic building in the hospital district in Fort Worth on West Magnolia Avenue. The Max Mehl building was erected in 1916 by Max Mehl, a famous coin collector or ‘numismatist’ with a prominent list of clienteles including Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Amon Carter. My office space is appropriate clinical but I was not willing to compromise the historic beauty within…exposed brick, period appropriate finishes including tin ceiling tiles and vintage light fixtures. At the time I acquired the space, I was faced with the decision to take the entire first floor of the building but feared at the time ‘I would never be that busy’. I have regretted that decision for almost 8 years…

The space that is now The Retreat is the front corner of the first floor, facing the Magnolia and Henderson intersection. The floor is the original honeycomb tile on the slab of the building: my favorite aspect of the entire first floor. When the opportunity to take over the space came to me, planning for what it would become was already underway. Construction allowed the two spaces to be connected via a hallway and while construction was progressing, I found myself routinely retreating over there to savor the addition and dream about what it was to become. Hence, The Retreat.

My practice has always been full service which means I perform both surgical and non-surgical procedures. I am blessed to have a full surgical suite on site at my office for the convenience of my patients. This space was invaluable for years to perform laser resurfacing, injections, skin tightening…most anything that I offered I could comfortably execute in an extraordinary space. The difficulty with utilizing space for multiple types of procedures is scheduling constraints and the inability to expand services without the room to perform them. In acquiring the space for The Retreat, I had the opportunity to spread my wings…branch out and offer more services and accommodate more patients and their scheduling desires.

We offer HydraFacial®, SkinPen®, and ThermiRF® skin tightening which includes Thermal nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation. We offer the Sciton laser which allows for fractional skin resurfacing and microlaser peel as well as phototherapy. We have a broad scope of massage service available as well. All of this in a comfortable, artsy environment on the magnificent Magnolia mile. While you are preparing for your treatment, enjoy a beverage of choice from our full bar or perhaps just sip some champagne while you relax. Imagine scheduling a massage and a facial then joining your friends for wine at Kent and Company or dinner at Heim Barbeque across the street. Maybe ice cream at Melt will cool you down after your SkinPen…we have a solution for everyone.

I am incredibly proud of the experience that we have created at The Retreat and we are eager to show you around. The beauty of having this facility on site at my office is that, I as the physician and medical director am physically always on site, either seeing patients in my office or in the operating room here.
